Upcoming events
TONIGHT: On June 16th, Tresha Faye Haefner of The Poetry Salon is running a free Zoom workshop on the 7 Kinds of Writer's Block and How to Get Past Each One. Whether you’ve been struggling to break through the wall standing between you and inspiration, or you’re simply looking for new ways to get the creative well flowing again, this workshop is for you.
Then, on Wednesday, June 17th, I’ll host another monthly Chill Subs Tutorial to cover our submission tool offerings. Come check out how to get the most out of your membership by learning how to make a profile, browse our database, use the prose formatter, cover letter generator, and tracker. If you have questions, this is where you’ll get immediate answers.

On Wednesday, June 24th, Jennifer Acker, Editor in Chief of The Common, will join us for an Ask-Me-Anything. If you’re looking to get published in The Common, or want to know more about what it means for pieces to “embody a strong sense of place,” come on down to hear tips on increasing your submission success. We’ll also talk about general advice for writers on craft and submission strategy.
On Wednesday, July 1st, pencil in some time to submit your work and join Andrea Firth in our monthly Submit It Now sessions. This month, Andrea’s session will start with an overview of journals and magazines on Substack and the pros and cons of submitting to them. If that piques your interest (or if you just want to carve out some dedicated time to submit your work), join us!
This last one is for the poets among us. On Wednesday, July 8th, we bring you a second Ask-Me-Anything event with Noah Baldino, Poetry Editor of the Georgia Review. Join this live event to hear about what it takes to land that coveted Georgia Review publication for your bio.
